چکیده

In this paper we consider a periodic review order-up-to inventory system with capacitated replenishments, lost sales and zero lead time. We consider discrete demand. It is shown that the initial stock levels of the different review periods form aMarkov chain andwe determine the transitionmatrix. Furthermore we study for what probabilitymass functions of the review period demand theMarkov chain has a unique stationary distribution. Finally, we present a method to determine the fill rate. © 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Estimation of the cost function of a two-echelon inventory system with lost sales using regression

Multi-echelon inventory systems are one of the most important and attractive areas in modelling supply chain management so that several researches and studies have been done about. In this paper, the total cost function of a two-echelon inventory system with central warehouse and many identical retailers controlled by continuous review inventory policy is estimated. We have assumed the demand i...

Determining the reorder point and order-up-to-level in a periodic review system so as to achieve a desired fill rate and a desired average time between replenishments

In this paper we consider a periodic review, reorder point, order-up-to-level system, a type commonly used in practice. Motivated by a specific practical context, we present a novel approach to determining the reorder point and order-up-to-level (for a given review interval) so as to target desired values of i) customer fill rate and ii) average time between consecutive replenishments. Specific...

Dynamic Inventory Management with Learning About the Demand Distribution and Substitution Probability

A result in the Bayesian inventory management literature is: If lost sales are not observed, the Bayesian optimal inventory level is larger than the myopic inventory level (one should “stock more” to learn about the demand distribution). This result has been proven in other studies under the assumption that inventory is perishable, so the myopic inventory level is equal to the Bayesian optimal ...

A hybrid method of Pareto, TOPSIS and genetic algorithm to optimize multi-product multi-constraint inventory control systems with random fuzzy replenishments

Multi-periodic inventory control problems are mainly studied employing one of two assumptions. The first is the continuous review, where depending on the inventory level orders can be placed at any time, and the other is the periodic review, where orders can be placed only at the beginning of each period. In this paper, we relax these assumptions and assume that the time-periods between two rep...

A Mathematical Method for Managing Inventories in a Dual Channel Supply Chain

The advent of e-commerce has prompted many manufacturers to redesign their traditional channel structure by engaging in direct sales. In this paper, we present a dual channel inventory model based on queuing theory in a manufacturer-retailer supply chain, consisting of a traditional retail channel and a direct channel which stocks are kept in both upper and lower echelon. The system receives ...
